Chefchaouen or Chaouen, as it is often called by Moroccans, is a popular tourist destination because of its proximity to Tangier (less than 1hr by ferry from Gibraltar). The name refers to the shape of the mountain tops above the town, that look like the two horns (chaoua) of a goat. "Chef Chaouen" derives from the Berber word for horns, Ichawen.
However, by far the main attraction of this incredible destination is it's blue rinsed houses and buildings.
Set to the atmospheric music by Rumi Ged which is featured on many Arabic/Moroccan chillout albums.

Went to Istanbul on my first trip abroad with my pal Tommy Mulholland. We had been oot partaking in a few and the snow came down. I could hear this magical music faintly in the distance and whilst Tommy was looking for the next bar to visit I headed towards the music. I searched through the falling snow until I arrived at a tiny record stall and listened mesmerised by this beautiful piece of music.
